In the last part of the book speak by Laurie Halse Anderson ,melinda really has a hard time. well lets just say that the ending of this book was not what i expected or what my group expected. i must say overall this was a good book.
Melinda began to speak more once heather her old Friend had came to ask for help. Melinda said no to heather though. i was rather surprised to hear or find out that Melinda said no to heather. i think the old Melinda would have said yes to heather because she had no other Friend besides heather. the old Melinda really needed a friend but no because heather is not like her real friend any more Melinda could care less.
after reading the book somewhere towards the end Melinda Finlay tells Rachel her old friend that she was raped. it was kind of Melinda trying to speak up for her self. what really had me shocked was when Melinda told Rachel her old friend that Andy Evans raped her. no Andy evens is Rachel's boy friend so she just called Melinda a liar. i just don't understand why Melinda would lie about that. Rachel just did not want to hear something like that because he was her boy friend.
i was happy that Melinda spoke up for her self when Andy Evans try to her her for telling Rachel what happen. Melinda screamed and that's when her telling her past Begin. wow what a shocker huh. yeah i think so to.
this book was great i am glad i read speak.
